West Bengal MLA Idris Ali dies at age 73

Idris Ali, who has represented represented the constituency of Bhagabangola in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly since May 2021, died on 16th February at the age of 73 following hospitalisation due to a "severe illness".

A member of All India Trinamool Congress, he also represented the Lok Sabha constituency of Basirhat from 16th May 2014 until 23rd May 2019, and the West Bengal Legislative Assembly constituency of Uluberia Purba.
