Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas has been placed on a wanted list by the Russian government over Estonia's removal of Soviet war memorials.

The removal of Soviet war memorials in Estonia continues a processes of decommunization and derussification that started in 1991 following the re-establishment of Estonian independence. These processes have been intensified following the escalation of the illegal Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Estonia was occupied by the Soviet Union in 1940 as part of the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, a pact between the Soviets and the Nazis that divided eastern Europe between them. Estonia was briefly occupied by the Nazis from 1941 to 1944 before being re-occupied by the Soviet Union until the early 1990's.
