Alexander Stubb wins Finnish Presidential election.

Former Prime Minister of Finland Alexander Stubb, a member of the National Coalition Party defeated former Minister of Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto, who was nominated by the Green League in the second round of the Finnish Presidential election. Stubb received 51.62% of the vote in the second while Haavisto received 48.38%.

Alexander Stubb served as Prime Minister of Finland from 24th June 2014 until 29th May 2015 and as Minister of Finance under Prime Minister Juha Sipilä from 29th May 2015 until 22nd June 2016. He will be inaugurated as President on 1st March 2024, succeeding term-limited incumbent Sauli Niinistö.
